It took me a while to work out the location of this photo by Albert Weller, but I'm fairly sure it shows the THEODORE LAURENT outward bound passing a tanker at the Teesport Oil Berths.
THEODORE LAURENT (5358438): Cie. des Atel & Forges de la Loire, France, 4145gt, completed Blainville 1953.
1965 EIRA (Finland) stranded and sank December 1969.
(Miramar = wrecked near Ajax Shoal, SE Hango 9.12.69 [Storugns-Koverhar, limestone]
Listed as an ore carrier.

Probably sailing after my own sighting of her in Middlesbrough Dock on 17 March 1964:

May I suggest you have it the wrong way round Ron.

She is passing North Tees 2 inward ( the hose gantry is N.Tees, not Teesport.)
Another clue is the position of the Pylon.

Interesting in that it was very unusual for "loaded ships" to go to
Middlesbrough Dock. The second pic shows her possibly lighter
than the first. Could she have been bringing a cargo of Phosrock
for Billingham where ships, too deep for Billingham Reach, lightened
in the dock and cargo shifted to Billingham by lorry ? Listing as an ore
carrier could suggest bulk cargo.

Tony,

Again a case of live and learn! I'm sure you're right, but my comments arose from the probable 1964 date and what may be a mistaken belief that the North Tees jetties did not become operational until 1965 at the earliest. However, looking at the 1963 booklet for the Tees Dock opening (mentioned in a previous post) it looks as though ICI did have one jetty in use by that date. Roughly opposite Tarmac, so I imagine that must have been around where Albert stood to take his photo? (Which does make more sense as otherwise he would have had to be afloat on the pilot cutter, etc.)
