The three gentlemen in question and instrumental in the British development of landing craft were,
Sir Stanley V. Goodall, K.C.B., O.B.E. Director of Naval Construction., 1936 - 1944.
Mr L. C. Woollard. Assistant Director and Director of Landing Craft.
Mr Rowland. Baker. Constructor.
Sir Stanley also gives credit to another individual, the German designer, because German craft were built on this same principle.

Those keen to learn more will do no better than acquire the book, Selected Papers on British Warship Design in World War II, from the Transactions of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects where there are two Transactions by Rowland Baker, Ships of the Invasion Fleet and Notes on the Development of Landing Craft.
