Barnett class lifeboat GORDON CUBBIN which has been up at the Tees Barrage for some time,now on the Aveco slipaway 14.04.17 looking in a pretty sorry state!!

Her full RNLI name was E. M. M. GORDON CUBBIN.
Served at Mallaig from 1957 to 1982. Relief fleet from 1982 to 1985.
Sold 1985 and served as Scrabster Pilot Boat for a while.

Both still there 12/03/2022 but looking a little worse for wear :(

I don't think either of them were Copper Plated up to the waterline when built unlike the HDML " Marica" at Hartlepool, still they are both doing well when "Money's to tight to mention" to Copper Plate them these day. It was sad to hear last year of my Uncles old boat "John H Vincent ex "Lady Margaret" an ex 42ft R.N. Rowing Pinnace from around 1908 being scrapped. I did drive down to see her but picked the very day the Yard was closed, I was kindly offered the name board off her, if it had "Lady Margaret" chiselled on the other side I would have snapped his hand off.
A credit to their Boatbuilders now long gone. :cry:
