The ALDERMAN B. O. DAVIES is seen ashore at Redcar in November 1971. The cutter had left the Tees with pilots for two vessels and it was whilst proceeding to the second vessel that the weather and sea conditions forced the cutter to reduce speed. Shortly afterwards the cutter began to fill with water through a fractured cooling water pipe and had to be abandoned. Fortunately there had been no loss of life and the abandoned cutter was found ashore at Redcar next morning. Eventually refloated and repaired, the ALDERMAN B. O. DAVIES returned to service.

ALDERMAN B.O. DAVIES, 42GT, completed James N. Miller & Sons Ltd., Fife, 7-1955
(Classed at Lloyd's for River Tees pilot purposes and thereby, for quite some time, qualified for inclusion in Lloyd's Register!)

This much enlarged action shot was taken by Albert Weller, probably circa 1960:

Would it be possible to use a photo of this vessel on Clyde Built Ships ?.

Mick,

You are clear to use my own or any Albert Weller image on Clyde Built Ships.

Don't suppose we yet know her final fate?

Thanks. Interesting to know she is still on the go.
