CHERRYBOBS (1) (Cherry Marine)

I'm fairly sure this barge was the first vessel operated by Cherry Marine, but I have no details for her.
River Tees - 13 May 1974 (a rare colour [sic] shot from my earlier days!):

River Tees - 30 August 1977:

River Tees - 16 March 1980:

I think these are all of the same vessel, although it appears there were various modifications made to her by the time of the third, 1980, photo.

I went fishing with a couple of the old foyboatmen brigade in 1962/63...Bob Gibson & Ray Sharp if I remember rightly...
Then in about 1993ish I went with Eddie Appleton and someone else...perhaps his brother Andy, in a Cherry vessel so not really a perk!

Sailfin, the CHERRYBOBS has no connection to Thompson shipbuilders at North Sands (Sunderland)

Therefore, I have moved your post to join others about the CHERRYBOBS under Miscellaneous Port Craft - River Tees.
There you will also see your two photos contributed by the actual photographers (one of them being myself!)

These post could also be linked with shipbuilder Harker (not Barker) of Knottingley.

I am grateful to you for stating her previous identity was as the ROSEDALE H, which was not known to me.
This seems to be confirmed by her history at: http://shippingandshipbuilding.uk/view. ... ROSEDALE+H

Hello Ron and thank you for this, I did work for Marine Partners back in the early eighties. As for J Harker Shipbuilder Knottingly was a misprint that I later noticed. I have a lot of info in this old head and will be posting more info about various vessels of the Tees.
Thanks Ron .

Are you yet another Ron on North-East Maritime?

Anyway, look forward to you rmemories of other Tees based vessels.
You will find many of them already showing in these pages and you can find them by using the searh button above.
It will be helpful if you then reply on the topic concerned which keeps things together, rather than start a new (but duplicated) topic.

Did Freddie Charville have an interest in this outfit, he was very active in marine matters along with his "core transport" business around this time?
