Another photo that was in amongst a batch of Tyne related images so I presume she is on the Tyne. Photo was sent to me by Clive Ketley.Original from George Scott. EDIT: Now moved to Blyth section. See note below.

Built as the FORT LAVERNOCK by Colby Bros at Lowestoft in 1920

It's taken at Blyth, the tower in the background is still there and the staithes behind her are now the Alcan berth or ship unloading facility. Take your pick it rarely handles ships now as the Lynemouth smelter is closed and what little comes in is/was railed up to Fort William having come round the top of Scotland from Augnish in the Irish Republic

Interesting to note that she has her name on a board at the side of the Bridge and not on the bow.

Owned by W N Lindsay Ltd of Leith from 1946 to 1957.
