This picture must date from 1953 when she was sold and renamed BLYTH EXPLORER.
Registered Owners were Blyth Dry Docks and Shipbuilding Ltd.
Managers later recorded as Moller Line UK which links in with the then owners of the shipyard.

Lots of interesting stuff in the picture as well. She is berthed on the Middle Jetty in the South Harbour and the Sheds on the right were part of the Submarine Base. The little building on the end was a Chapel.
I must admit, I always had George down as a Collector of photographs rather than a 'Taker'. Not sure that he was the best photographer in the world BUT its fantastic to see some of his stuff.
Keep up the good work Dave, and I hope Clive sends you many, many, many more........

I had assumed from Clive's message that George was the photographer, but that may not be the case, perhaps he had just collected them as you say. The photos came from him anyway.

Not sure what happened to George's 'Collection' in the end.
