Those of a certain age, i.e. Mr Hood and I, remember it as Import Dock because it imported pit props from Scandanavia for the North East coalfield but now it is referred to as the South Harbour. Those same people remember the organisation as 'the harbour' as it was operated by Blyth Harbour Commission and not, as it is now 'Port of Blyth. Not like we live in the past but it would be nice to see a few more trading ships than demobbing/off hire oil industry boats.
And a bah humbug from Blyth from the festive season.
Might improve my fettle after watching Dr Who Christmas Special
