excaliber arriving.JPG

Arriving yesterday at 7am from Ramsgate in tow of MTS VISCOUNT. Also aided in berthing by MTS VECTOR.
She is here to dismantle the two wind turbines off the coast which were the first offshore wind farm in the UK. OK so there were only two. OK so they have never worked for ages. Why? Because they did not bury the cable that connected the turbines to the shore and just laid it on the seashore. So it flexes with the power of the current, which produces waves, which if used right can produce hydro electricity, and it snaps!
So anyway they are coming down and one of the blades will be kept for use by the Harbour's training arm, Port Training Services.
No doubt more pictures of her will appaer in due course
Regards
Graham
