Can anybody identify the ship in the background of the top photo? Appears to be a Burntisland-built ship from the 1930's.

That slight outward curve of her bow does indeed suggest Burntisland, a high proportion of the 1930's output were war losses, but can't get a photo match for an survivor in these colours.

I believe the vessel in the background is the SUNRISE.
Built in 1940 at Burntisland as the SUNCREST. 5,117 Gross.
She was SUNRISE from 1956 to 1959.

No she was laid up for a while.
CELTIC QUEEN was broken up mid 1959.
DEPTFORD is in CEA colours... 1954 to 1958

Suggest this is 1958 ish. SUNRISE became SILVER PRINCE in 1959, AURA in 1963. Broken up in 1971.

HUDSON RIVER + SUNRISE + GLASGOW 1.10.58.jpg
HUDSON RIVER + SUNRISE + GLASGOW (ARR 1-10-1958)
I have but it does not show very much. From the Notes I took at the time, I'm 90% sure its her. Good match for Georges picture as well.

Sorry, Date for GLASGOW is wrong, should be 8th July 1958.
