FRED EVERARD, F.T.Everard & Sons Ltd, 1542gt,
completed Grangemeouth 6-1958
wrecked Blewick Point, Ravenscar 27.11.65 [Flekkefjord-London, paper pulp]

This ill-fated coaster, wrecked in the NEM area, was seen at Blyth by Albert Weller (I have no idea who the interested spectator was!):

... and presenting the challenge of identifying the warship in the background of the third view which, presumably, was being broken up. That will probably date this photo to circa 1960.

Glasgow was 1958 so to soon.

So it has to be EURYALUS which arrived in 1959.

The next 'Big' Grey Funnel was Apollo in November 1962 and its not her.

Paul,

Thanks. You look to be spot on with EURYALUS, see: http://www.naval-history.net/xGM-Chrono ... ryalus.htm

Per Miramar arrived Blyth 18.7.1959 (not 1958 as stated in above website), and already well cut down by the time Albert got there so probably later 1959 or into 1960 as I suspected (not yet found any of his that seem to be any earlier than 1959).
