Mick, yes the Russian letters seem to translate nonsensically as MEDNIY VSADNIK, registered at Leningrad!

I would go for that Ron.
Its does not make any sense but they probably never thought people like us would try and translate it.....
The bit they got really wrong is the funnel.
The hammer and sickle should be at an angle and worse than that, the two Gold bands indicate its a Fishing Vessel.
