WILBERFORCE sold

Reported on the SeaTheShips forum by Peter in Devon

"The John H Whitaker tanker 'Wilberforce' (2007/1055) which has been renamed 'Betohobbies' is off on a long voyage to pastures new in Luanda. I also understand that she can manage about 7 knots with a tail wind.

For the past three days I have watched her on AIS steaming in circles very slowly around Lyme Bay and whilst at Berry Head today I saw her finally head south and out into the Channel around lunchtime. She is obviously now on her delivery voyage and watching her progress on AIS she is ambling along at 4.8 knots!"

Making her second long distance voyage as she was built in India by 'Modest Infrastructure' of Bhavnager.

Stated speed is 8.5 kts, however she is not currently on AIS so we cannot see how far she has got.

There is indeed evidence that her Infrastructure is too Modest.

I assume she was 'Chartered' not sold as her Registered Owner throughout has been Whitaker Tankers Limited.
