Having been down to Albert dock this morning, it is sad to say that views like the first one above are no longer possible. The full length of the lock has been fenced off with about 8ft high chain link fence - there is still access across the outer gates to the public right of way but the alternative route over the inner gates is now also fenced off.

As far as I'm aware the footpath over the lockgates at King George dock is also still fenced off - as it has now been like this for some considerable time I assume ABP have no intention of re-opening the footpath along the front of QE dock.

Shame as that bit of land on inner side of the gates ain't much use to anyone .... Elf and Safety again, I guess :(
