Cruise and Maritime recently announced that the final voyage of the OCEAN COUNTESS will be the cruise to Canaries and Madeira departing Liverpool 9 October 2012, but now terminating at Barcelona instead of returning to Liverpool.
Being replaced next season (2013) by the even older DISCOVERY, completed 1-1972 as ISLAND VENTURE.

My wife and I much enjoyed our cruise on the OCEAN COUNTESS during 2010.

A rather nice vessel and far better looking than the floating blocks of Flats around these days, Greeks/ older Vessels / Insurance seems to have been a regular feature over the years, not that I am insinuating anything on their part, they just seem to be rather unlucky 8-)
