7-cyl. 2 S.C.S.A. (340 x 570 mm) Polar M47M type by British Polar Engines Ltd., Glasgow, single reduction reverse geared to a single fixed pitch propeller. 1,300 bhp. 22 tons bollard pull. 11 kts.
1958: Ordered from Henry Scarr Ltd., Hessle upon Humber (Yard No. 761) by R. & J. H. Rea Ltd.
20.10.1958: Keel laid.
26.3.1959: Launched for Wm. Cory & Son Ltd., London.
20.11.1959: Completed, (R. & J. H. Rea Ltd., managers). Registered at Milford.
1963: Transferred to R. & J. H. Rea Ltd.
16.7.1970: Owner restyled as Cory Ship Towage Ltd.
1972: Transferred to Republic of Ireland registry, (O.N. 401020).
1979: Transferred to Irish Tugs Ltd., (Cory Ship Towage Ltd., managers), Republic of Ireland.
1983: Sold to Pounds Marine Shipping Ltd., Portsmouth.
1984: Sold to International Towing Ltd. (I. T. L.) Ramsgate, and renamed THOMAS B.
1985: Sold to Eurosalve Ltd., Folkestone, and renamed EUROSALVE I.
1987: Sold to Demco Export Ltd., Tetbury.
1.11.1987: Arrived at La Coruna under tow having suffered engine failure whilst towing the tank barge BEAUFORT (347g. /63), and a small un-named trawler from Portsmouth to Piraeus. Subsequently placed under arrest.
15.6.1989: Sold by auction to Recuperaciones Desguaces y Salvamentos S.A., for demolition, but was subsequently resold to Redesa S. A., (M. Santa Cruz Rojo, managers), Spain, and reported as having been renamed SANTA CRUZ 4*.
24.2.1992: Sank as EUROSALVE I, whilst anchored at Fontan, near La Coruna. Subsequently refloated and demolished at La Coruna.
It was reported officially to Lloyd's Register that vessel was renamed SANTA CRUZ 4, although this seems not to have been the case on the actual vessel. It has also been reported that Redesa S. A. is a subsidiary of and an abbreviated version of REcuperaciones DEsguaces y SAlvamentos
