SILVERSTONE was built by Henry Scarr at Hessle for General Wharfage & Supply in 1935, YN 370
1941: Renamed MERCEDES for Mercantile Lighterage
1969: Broken up by Ward at Grays.

O.N. 164544. 60g. 66.0 x 17.6 x 7.3 feet.
Premier type diesel by Crossley Bros, Manchester. 480 BHP.
10.1935: Completed by Henry Scarr, Ltd, Hessle upon Humber (Yard No. 370) for General Wharfage & Supply Company Ltd., London.
12.10.1935: Registered at London.
5.3.1941: Sunk by mine explosion on the River Medway. Subsequently raised and repaired.
1945: Sold to Wm Cory & Son Ltd.
1946: To Mercantile Lighterage Ltd. and renamed MERCEDES.
5.3.1969: Arrived at Grays, Essex for demolition by T.W. Ward & Sons, Sheffield.
