The second ARK ROYAL, a seaplane tender built at Blyth in 1914. She was built as a tanker but converted whilst still on the stocks to her Naval role.

purchased whilst building and launched 5/9/1914. She was a seaplane carrieraand could operat4 aircraft. Converted to a depot ship in 1923 and renamed Pegasus in 1934 to release the name for the aircraft carrier to be built by Cammell Laird. In 1940 she was fitted as a fighter catapult ship and escorted convoys. Accommodation ship 1944. For disposal 1946. 8/10/46 sold for conversion to a merchant ship and renamed Anita 1. The conversion was not completed and she was scrapped at Grays by Ward in 1950.
