In relation to this one, an enquiry has come through:

"My main query is whether any of the records of the Blyth Shipbuilding Co are still in existence.
I would be interested to find a drawing of the vessel or any builders records."

Any chance of this?

To be honest George I would doubt if very much still exists.
Tyne and Wear Archives at Blandford Street do hold some records but I think they are in connection with correspondence from other yards.
The only other possibility could be the Northumberland Archives at Woodhorn but again I think they only have Minute Books etc.

Apparently when Gregsons took over the site of the yard they inherited the yard's archives. I was told the records moved with them to their new site at Kitty Brewster Industrial estate but after that no one local seems to know what happened to the records.
Most likely skipped or burned
