Yes, a full 25 years ago now so memory fades, but I am amazed, looking at my negatives, that I did not seem to actually catch her sliding into the water! I was with Mick, so wonder if he did any better?

When she was on the Tyne I always felt she looked like a 'Baby Tug' but in reality she was not that small. Her design made her look 'Chunky'.

Mind comparing her with a certain present day Tyne Tug that does not know one end from the other she looked splendid!!

Two, 6-cyl. 4 S.C.S.A. (230 x 273mm) Ruston 6AP230M type by Ruston Diesels Ltd., Newton-le-Willows, reverse geared to twin fixed pitch propellers operating within Kort fixed nozzles and Becker rudder. 1,900bhp. 10.5 kts. 28 tons bollard pull.
27.1.1987: Keel laid by Cochrane Shipbuilders Ltd., Selby (Yard No. 136) for Humber Tugs (Sturdee) Ltd., Hull.
25.9.1987: Launched for Humber Tugs Ltd., Hull.
26.1.1988: Completed.
1994: Sold to Lawson-Batey Ltd., (Wear Tugs Ltd., managers), Sunderland and renamed HILLSIDER.
5.1995: Sold with owners to Cory Towage Ltd., London.
7.2000: Sold to Fairplay Schleppdampfschiffs-Reederei Richard Borchard GmbH, Hamburg for delivery end of year when renamed FAIRPLAY XI.
2007: Transferred to Polish registry.
1.2013: Sold to LUHRS Schiffahrt OHG and renamed TWISTER under German flag.
