One of 6 'X' lighters / landing craft built by Cochrane in 1915. 172grt and yard no. 717.
Seen here at Malta 01/1943 with an unidentified submarine.

The sub is HMS Taku of the first group T class built by Cammell Laird, launch 20 May 1939 and would have an active war in Home and Med waters, surviving all that was dropped on her to be broken up Llanelly Nov 1946.

X.131 was sunk at Malta as was sister X.127 whose remains can still be dived in Marsamxett harbour, Malta.

Thanks for this, Sean. I have X.131 salavaged, 1947 refitted and sold to Greek Government in 1952.
