Indeed so, despite what El Capitino said at:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13137

May have implications elsewhere ?????

I have just reset the limit to the indicated 500KB ... in line with similar sites.

Noted!!

Therein lies the problem .... some sites want BIG, BIG, BIG! ... even bigger than the 2500 pixel width I have been using of late.
Others want smaller versions.

Will edit as needs must to fit NEM remit. (At 2000 pixels it seems some of my shots straddle the 500KB size!)

As a test, this is Ron's photo reduced in size to 470Kb but still at the original dimensions of 2500 x 1667

You can see that there is a slight loss of definition, but it was a rather extreme example.

What I do as a matter of routine for web photos is reduce to 1500 wide, sharpen then compress to just below 500kb.
To me these look fine for web purposes, even when enlarged from display size.
Here it is on this basis ... click on it to see it at 1500 wide, to me better than the wider format

Unfortunately in my Photo Impression editor there does not seem to be any facility to compress images - I did have that in whatever I used when I first started.

Reducing my edited image to 1500 pixels still produces an image sized at 566KB! Experimentation required!!!!

Oh, and look, the "system" has allowed me to show it????
