HMT Tug ANTIC (ex ANT)

Assurance Class built by Cochrane & Sons Ltd, Selby, Yorkshire.
Length 156' 6". Beam 35'. Draught 16' 6".
630 Gross. Speed 13 kts.
Engines. Steam Triple Expansion. IHP 1350. Fuel 250 Tons of Oil. Single Screw.
Bollard Pull approx 13.5 Tons.
Named ANT W141, but completed as ANTIC (A141) 24th March 1943.
Classed as a Rescue Tug and armed with 1 x 3" and 2 x 20mm

June 1943-45. Onloan to Royal Netherlands Navy.
26 January 1948. Commissioned with RN Crew as tender to HMS EXCELLENT.
1956. transferred to Portsmouth.
1959. To Portland, then Rosyth.
12th November 1969. Sold to Hughes Bolckow Ltd, Blyth for breaking up.
14th November 1969. Towed away from Rosyth by IRONSIDER.

But for some reason she must have berthed on the Tyne before going to Blyth.
