TRAWLERS IN NORTH BASIN?

PD Ports currently list 8 Dutch trawlers, including some veterans, as discharging in the North Basin, Hartlepool.

Anyone know what brings so many in at one time, and in that location?

Ron,The ships you ask about are all Scallop Trawlers, all registered from Troon, they are probably here in Hartlepool for the New Year Holiday....All have and are Fishing off the Scarborough Coast.......Hartlepool Monkey(Stan Laundon)has several photos of these ships in his collection in Hartlepool Fishing Vessels......Regards Michael....

Thanks, Michael. Makes sense .... just seemed unusual to see so many of them on the list at the same time.

Sadly, there's no direct access to the North Basin.

I did see on the PD Ports website they were all down as 'estimate' to leave yesterday. One did go at 1315 and I missed it - because I took a chance and went over there at 1320. The others are now scheduled to sail tomorrow.

UPDATE: We have a similar situation again with about six of these vessels in the North Basin. They are scheduled to sail on January 12th.
