Marine Traffic reports Britannia Seaways on fire off the coast of Norway.

Hopefully nothing too serious.

On Shipspotting reported conditions very stormy preventing an evacuation - doesn't sound good...

Currently making 8 knots towards Norway with Normand Arctic in attendance, one report (translated by Google) says steering gear compartment fire. Given that she is still underway hopefully not too bad, if a fire at sea can ever be called that.

Fire extinguished on cargo ship off Norway

HELSINKI (AP) — A fire aboard a cargo ship carrying armored vehicles and other military supplies to a military exercise in Norway has been extinguished. Norwegian rescue services spokesman Ola Vaage says the Britannia Seaways is sailing to the Norwegian southwestern port of Bergen on its own steam and was joined by a Norwegian navy vessel. He said "all is well on board," with 20 crew and 12 military personnel. Vaage said Sunday it was not immediately clear what caused the fire, which started in a container. He said the storm on Saturday night had abated and sailing conditions were good. The ship was expected in Bergen later Sunday. ...
