In January this year Maritime Carrier Shipping (MACS) started a Continent to US Gulf/Mexico service that calls at Immingham approximately once a month. The company's press release was as follows:

New Multipurpose Service between UK/North West Continent
and the USGulf/Mexico - USEastcoast starting January 2015

MACS Maritime Carrier GmbH & Co., Hamburg, will start a new Multipurpose Service between UK/North West Continent and the USGulf/Mexico - USEastcoast in January 2015.

The Service will employ the 34.000dwt openhatch/boxshaped Multipurpose Container Vessels Amber Lagoon and Purple Beach with Lifting Capacity of up to 110mts.

The new Service will accept Break Bulk, Unitized Cargo, Rolling Stock, Steel Products, Project Cargo, Bulk Parcels and Containers.

The first Eastbound Sailing from the USGulf will be mv Amber Lagoon Voyage # 5301 leaving Houston January 5th, 2015. The first Westbound Voyage # 5401 will start loading in Bremen on January 30th, 2015.


The Rotation of the Service will be:

Altamira (Mexico), New Orleans and Houston

Rotterdam, Immingham, Bremen, Antwerp and Bilbao

The frequency of the service will be monthly.

In Europe the Service is managed by Macs Maritime Carrier GmbH & Co., Hamburg.
General Agents in the USA is Galborg USA, LLC, Houston.
