]Can anyone help with information on the following river craft please

(1) 'TEES CONSERVATOR. I believe she was built locally as the 'TEES HARBOUR MASTER' and probably disposed of in the 1970s. I remember seeing her in THPA livery moored on what was then known as 'Belle Island' in Whitby Harbour.

(2) 'TEES COMMISSIONER' When and where was she built? There is a craft which looks very similar gently rotting away at Coats Marine Boatyard at Whitby, She is known as the 'VECTIS' and may have been used at one time as the party fishing boat 'WILD WIND' during the 1980s, but that is only supposition.

(3) Customs launch, which I believe may have been named 'SPEEDWELL'. Where was she built and what happened to her.

(4) The port Health launch (MEDIC?) Again where and when was she built and what became of her.

(5) Finally, I cant quite make out the name of this tug attending the launch of the 'DALLAS CITY' in 1936. The picture is a screen shot from a Pathe New clip on U Tube

Well the tug in (5) is the ATHLETE, brought to the Tees by the Robinson Tug Co Ltd in 06/1909 and on to Tees Towing Co Ltd in 07/1920.
She was built by J.Stewart & Sons at Blackwall on the Thames in 1893 for Matthew Brownfield at Poplar.
Sold by Tees Towing to JH Lamey Ltd of Liverpool in 12/1947 and finally broken up in 1955 by TW Ward Ltd at Preston.
Info from Seahorses of the Tees by John H Proud

Don't know if it is relevant but there is an unresolved query regarding one of the photos at:

Just wonder if this might have been the SPEEDWELL you refer to?

Again not answering your query but found an interesting photo at:

The Middlesbrough group includes the late Ray (known as Bob) Counter, a stalwart member of Teesside Ship Society for many years (in two spells).

The speedwell that I am thinking about was more like a a large fast motor launch (no funnel), built of steel and I think she was painted black all over.

The 'Tees Commissioner' was a lovely craft I had a lift on her a number of times, powered by two Six cylinder Ford Thorneycroft diesels and built in the style of a Wartime RAF Seaplane Tender only with an extended Aft Cabin, her Cox was Alf S. who made superb door mats out of rope, I had one for years after I left the TCC outside the back door of my/our house. My understanding was that she was bought by someone in the Hartlepool area for fishing but ended up wrecked on Redcar Beach. It's strange how you remember these things with the aid of my faded little black book which was in the Loft for years bearing in mind I can't remember where I put the Lemsips I bought a couple of days ago :?

In reply to Taximan's enquiry I have seen the 'Vectis' at the Yard in Whitby many years ago, my understanding is that she was a Harbour/ Pilot Boat from Southampton hence the name 'Vectis'
