Sank off Scilly Isles 1982 after taking on water during a gale while on passage Casablanca - Whitehaven. Five crew members were lost.

She was still UK Owned when she was lost.

As BURTON BARBER in 1978 when owned by Michael Bustard, Tonbridge.
On charter to Salvesen or has he nicked their funnel colours? Seems to have lost her derricks.

Could be!

I'm reasonably sure she hung around on the Coast for a while. Could be wrong but I think she was laid up for a little while in Blyth.
She's not listed in Salvesen's Managed vessels, but maybe a charter as they are a dead ringer!

Changed names in Blyth in 1979. Was told the name STONE AMBER was because she was on charter to Wm Robertsons, hence AMBER and it was for stone cargoes.
