Miss Velocity Speedboats

One of the delights at Scarborough was a trip on the Miss Velocity Speedboats during the late 1940's,50's and early 60's, until they disappeared, these beautiful varnished wooden craft were superb with powerful engine(s). I am looking for information on these craft not the later ones. Where they were built and what make were the engines? I suspect the engines could be Chryslers as plenty were available Post War, most of the Wartime Fireboats had Chrysler Main Engines along with Chrysler driven fire pumps so there was plenty of surplus engines around. Any information would be appreciated. What happened to them? Thank You.
