GLENEARN reconversion

From a 1950s Smith's Dock brochure, before and after pictures of the Caledon built GLENEARN which was converted back for commercial service at North Shields after use as a Landing Ship (Infantry) (Large) during the war. She had initially been requisitioned as a Fleet Supply Ship, converted by Palmers Hebburn in 1939, but the following year converted again to LSI in Liverpool. She returned to service in December 1947.
