I think her sister was WALCHEREN Van der Giessen-de Noord (yard no. 839) MIRAMAR has her as capsised and sank on 17th April 1989 with a cargo of cement from Piraeus-New York in position 38.33N/63.00W as STAR OF ALEXANDRIA.
PALM PRIDE until 1985 BREMEN until 1984 SAUDI CHALLENGER until 1983 AMSTERWAL until 1983 AMSTELWAL until 1978 WALCHEREN until 1965
Regarding FORELAND as ASEAN NATIONS ASEAN stood for Association of South East Nations, I think she was the company;s first ship and she drydocked and was handed over at Smiths, North Shields. As NEGOTIATOR she was Hong Kong flagged but Peoples Republic of China controlled, same company took the three Cammell Laird Dalgliesh boats in the late seventies before becoming fully PRC owned as YOUCHENG. Did some research on her a long time ago, Marine News has an entry about her being sold for scrap which obviously did not occur and possibly one about her disappearing, shipnapped. Need to check on that one though folks

Marine New 1988 P497 :NEGOTIATOR, formerly owned by National Investemtn & Development Corp., Phillipine Islands arrived off Kaohsiung 3.6.88 for demolition but it appears that she had been taken there without authority Marine News 1988, P586 under an article PIRACY IN THE PHILLIPINES by Peter Myers NEGOTIATOR had been laid up at Subice Bay since May 1984 when pirates boarded her, overpowered the crew of twelve and three security guards and forced them to sail for Hong Kong where she was abandoned off Lamma Island. The six piates were arrested at Macao where they had arrived in a Chinese junk and it was reported the pirates were connected with a major piracy operation in the Phillipines in which a number of thefts were planned. Only days before she was pinched Madrigal Shipping Corperation paid a deposit after negotiating to by the vessel and it was they who MN noted as owners the following year when noting her sale to Youncheng Shipping (Panama) Inc, Panama who, hard to believe, renamed her YOUCHENG on the Panamanian register !
