Captured today these are former dry docks which belonged to the Middle Docks & Engineering Co. Ltd., South Shields. The site of their largest dock was behind the row of new dwellings on the right of the picture, more dwellings are to be built between these and Mill Dam which I imagine will allow public access along the river front

Interesting view but sad in so many ways, as are all the old drydock sites. The ghosts of many a collier must haunt these docks!
