An ex-pat from the North East now living in Indonesia who has been in touch with me recently reckons he is having difficulty registering on NEM
Are there restrictions in place that could account for this?

Yes. We have to keep it closed to avoid a proliferation of unwanted visitors. I can arrange to open up for a short period at an agreed time (not midday in Indonesia!)
