I recorded and photographed the AVAX on both 10 and 17 July 1977, which straddled the Queen's Silver Jubilee visit on 14 July when she opened no. 2 quay (West Africa Terminal) at Tees Dock. I say I photographed her but at that time I was engaged in negative exchange with various contacts around the world. At one stage I received an excellent underway view of the AVAX from Rene Beauchamp in Canada so, over time, I let all my own negatives go ... which I now regret. Never mind - I still have this great shot in my collection:

Just to clarify, she had still been in Tees Dock when I saw her on the 17th, before Mick saw her in Middlesbrough Dock the next day.
