I can't recall any regular DEAC callers after starting work in Hull in 1970, except I have AZUMA of 1966 noted as a sighting in January 1976. We did have a West Coast North America service which was jointly run by Fred Olsen and Westfal Larsen and not sure if they were connected to another service by Furness Withy group (mainly Royal Mails I think), French Line and I think Holland America maybe involved ...

The AYUTHIA became my first ship sighting as recounted above.

50 YEARS AGO TODAY

Although, as recounted above, I had seen her again earlier in the intervening period this was now the best part of 15 years later that I had the first opportunity to obtain decent photos of my fiurst ship sighting.
