I think Blyth is looking to be the next Aberdeen base for offshore supply boats.

Aberdeen has draught restrictions and at present these really large vessels can struggle to get in, especially if there is a swell running down the entrance which is often the case. I think they are looking at doing some rock-blasting to improve it in the longer term.

From what I've picked up on the VHF, which is not much....
Both are in for Repair and Survey.

You may be right but
Maerk Lifter was here only the week before and I could see them welding on her deck,
time will tell.

Their was also talk about a Submersible, however the first one to arrive was down for Survey on the Port Website.
Its a good place for Maintenance, Good Cranage, Transport Links and above all its probably a lot cheaper than other Ports.

Slight correction to last note..........Survey in this case means, engaged in Survey Work, not as I thought, in for Survey!.
LIST SO FAR (In Order of Arrival.)
MAERSK LAUNCHER.
Arrived from North Sea on the 13th September and left for Gdansk on the 17th September.
NORMAND BALTIC.
Arrived from North Sea on the 22nd September and left for Sea on the 24th September.
MAERSK LIFTER.
Arrived from Aberdeen on the 26th September and left for the North Sea on the 6th October.
NORMAND BALTIC. (Second Visit)
Arrived from North Sea on the 1st October and left for the North Sea on the 4th October.
DEEP CYGNUS.
Arrived from Aberdeen on the 12th October.
MAERSK RESPONDER.
Arrived from the North Sea on the 12th October.

UPDATE.
DEEP CYGNUS sailed on the 17th October at 2040hrs from Alabama.

To round things off, after a quick trip back up to Battleship, the MAERSK RESPONDER sailed for the North Sea on the 27th November 2012.
