Recently announced in the press the pier is to be demolished and "replaced" after public consultation. For this, read demolished and never replaced

It has been closed to public access since 2022 due to safety concerns - very little maintenance has taken place for many years - it was quite regular in the 80's when I first started using it for photography.

Always used to stop at the cafe near the landward end, 1964 onwards!

Always used to stop at the cafe near the landward end, 1964 onwards!

Used to use the same cafe as shelter when waiting for the ships on the tide.
