The timber tug BERTHA built in 1925 by Armstrong Whitworth & Co at Walker is in need of funds or she will be scrapped. See:

Interesting, but from a heritage point of view ruined by the new topsides!

They seem to have done a great deal of work on her already, would be a shame to see all that wasted.

BUT calling Newcastle A TOWN!! Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Its a City and was a County in its own right.

Before this daft Tyne and Wear thingy!

The City and County of Newcastle upon Tyne, I assume ceased to exist in 1974 when Tyne and Wear was created.
