Built at Hebburn in 1960 by Hawthorn Leslie for the Warwick Tanker Co. Ltd. This company was formed in 1958 and was a partnership between B.P. and Houlder Brothers, as indicated by the tankers funnel markings. Of 23,108 grt she was powered by double reduction geared steam turbines giving her a service speed of 16 knots. From new she was chartered to B.P. until 1975.
Near the end of her charter she suffered an engine room fire whilst off Port Elizabeth which brought about her demise at the hands of Spanish ship breakers at Castellon where she arrived in June 1975.
Captured on 30th May 1961 these two views were taken from the duty pilot cutter as she approached the Tyne entrance and was met by ROUGHSIDER and two other local tugs.
