Said back in last post i would put up some stuff about the Onyx visit.
As it revolved round being inveterably inebriated, will let that one lie.
Much the same as many in the Orpheus no doubt.
I digress.
In the original post the only mast raised visible above the fin, not the conning tower, is the W/T mast, which was also the only telescopic mast.
Aft of the fin and 1/3rd of way down the aft casing is water discharging from the port (there was also one stbd side) 16 cylinder supercharged ASR diesel. These throbbing donks also allowed access centrally between the pair from the control room, forward of 77 bulkhead, to the motor room where all the electrical gubbins were controlled in a nice cosy and clean(ish) environment, then on to the aft ends, 103 bulkhead, where stokers and the 2 aft 21" tubes, with their Mk 20 swim out fish lived, 2 up the tubes, 2 reloads.
The ASR 16 cylinder diesel was also the machinery used in the 4 RN's and 3 Indian Type 41 Anti Aircraft frigates (Cat or Leopard class) and the 4 RN Type 61 Aircraft Direction frigates ( Cathedral or Salisbury class).
Thats all folks. Sean.
