State of the art service barge used at north shields

Well, I wonder what she was? An old tug or trawler?

Is she one of their own tug fleet, stripped down in her later years? Seems the most obvious parentage.

I had the same thought as George and, if so, the candidates would seem to be two small tugs currently recorded as broken up at unspecified dates in the 1950s. Maybe one of them became this service barge instead of being scrapped?

As can be seen from their dimensions, all three must originally have looked more or less identical!
